The world’s first app to fight hunger

ShareTheMeal is an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. Each year, WFP provides food aid to more than 86 million people in some 83 countries. WFP is funded 100% voluntarily, so every donation counts.
Donations from the ShareTheMeal app support a variety of WFP operations, from resilience building and school feeding programs to emergency food assistance. Since launching the app in 2015, we’ve helped provide assistance in some of the world’s biggest food crises, including Yemen, Syria and Nigeria.
Fighting Hunger Today. Doing our part to end hunger forever.

As the world faces a record number of emergencies, hunger is on the rise. Now more people than ever are in need of life-saving food aid. To meet this growing need, the World Food Program needs more resources and funding.

Over the next 5 years, we have an ambitious goal of sharing 800 million meals. To do this, we need to invest in growing our charitable community. Your donation will help in the following ways:

Most of your donation – 62% – will be used to directly help the World Food Program feed people in need. 28% will be invested in fundraising and marketing to grow our community so we can help even more people. 6% will continue to be used to run our organization, from renting office space to paying salaries. The remaining 4% will continue to help cover payments.

As we grow, we will cover our expenses while increasing the amount going directly to hungry families. According to WFP’s strategic plan, an average of 22% will be spent on fundraising between 2020 and 2030.
